Water and Sanitation Law


On February 5, 2009, Senator Silvano Aureoles Conejo, President of the Water Resources Commission of the Senate, presented the Water and Sanitation Law Initiative. The Law sets out institutional changes in the management and operation of water supply and sanitation
The drinking water and sanitation sector has been characterised by diversity and variation in public policies, in addition to a wide heterogeneity of criteria and guidelines resulting from the lack of a comprehensive framework for regulating and promoting the development of services that directs the guidelines to favour the appropriate drinking water supply, wastewater removal and sanitation.
